About Harlan County Senior Centers
Our Mission
The Harlan Co. Committee on Aging, Inc. focuses on the needs and interests of the Senior Community by offering a broad range of programs that can help Senior Citizens that are 60 years of age and older
Our Services
We offer a wide range of services that cater to the unique needs of senior citizens, including transportation, meal preparation, medication reminders, and home care. Our experienced and compassionate staff is committed to providing exceptional care and support to our clients.
- Congregate Meals - A nutritious meal that is served at 11:30AM in each Senior Center. Harlan is open Monday - Friday & Green Hill Centers is open on Tuesday & Friday.
- Home Delivered Meals - A Meal is delivered to an eligible client's home that is unable to join the congregate site.
- Homemaker - Help for basic essential household cleaning, shopping, errands and meal preparation.
- Personal Care - Assistance in bathing, dressing, grooming.
- Transportation - Provide transportation from a person's home to the Senior Center, and shopping on Friday.
- Escort - Provide eligible client's transportation personally assisting a client to obtain a service.
- Information and Assistance - Providing current information to a client or individual about available resources and linking them to appropriate community-based services to meet their needs.
- Outreach - To identify clients in need of Senior Center services and encourage the use of existing services offered.
- Informational Programs - Other agencies are invited to our congregate sites to make presentations of interest to older adults. Some include, Health Promotion, Nutrition Education, Ombudsman, and Benefits Counseling.
- Social Events - Activities to encourage socialization, Bingo, Table Games, Recreation, Arts, Crafts, Cookouts, etc.

Our team is made up of highly qualified and trained professionals who are passionate about helping senior citizens. We take pride in providing personalized care to each of our clients and ensuring their needs are met with the utmost respect and dignity.
